I think forums finally got to me

Not here - this is like a haven!

Everywhere else though - I've had so much negative stuff said about me that I'm beginning to believe it! So many people seem to think I'm horrible. Even when someone's quite nice to me I think they're being sarcastic.

Also, just things that have happened between other forums which have got out of hand - it's all a bit depressing that people can be so rotten to each other. Like the stuff between Toasted and Bitchfest lately. Mind you, I think even the people on Toasted have got sick of it - they seem to be toning it down lately.

Then there's the Mirror forum. It's been one long story of doom and gloom lately and it's getting to me a bit.

I think I need to find blackdahlia - he was the one person who always made me feel better on forums - he never blamed me when people had a go at me, and he didn't mind sticking up for me when everyone else was being 'orrible.

I don't like Big Brother though - it's like watching paint dry. Those other forums - did you used to read them after you left or did you just stop straightaway?

See that's what I find difficult to do. For example, I still read DTV because there are some entertaining threads on there, but then I get tempted to post something, and then someone's usually abusive so an argument starts. I suppose I could change my password and forget what it is so I can't log in any more or something, and then I can't read those bits.

It's fine so far. I just hope none of the people who are nasty or annoying join up. It does need more members though so I suppose it's only a matter of time before that happens.

The Mirror forum is good, but there are some really irritating people on there who I just want to slap! I find that with Smeggy's forum too - sorry.

And yes, I know I'm being really negative today - it's just all got to me, but I don't want to stop posting on forums. :p

I used to be on Toasted - I was a moderator at one point. I disagreed with a lot of the stuff that was said though and I got banned in the end.

I see they're trying to get people from the Mirror forum over there - I just hope the people I like on the Mirror don't get sucked into the bitching on Toasted - some of them are too good for that.

I joined 'Toasted' recently after the admin posted about it on another forum and issued an open invitation. But I don't normally post there though.

To be fair, they have toned down the nastiness in the last few days - I think the "forum war" with Bitchfest got a bit out of hand and things went too far, so even Claire has backed off a bit.

I think any forum is a reflection of society at large. There will be all sorts and not everyone will get on.

Even forum communities based around a specific interest can get really nasty. You should see the classical music forums where people have massive fights and pour vitriol on each other. :eek:

Hehe! Classical music forums - it just shows that no subject is immune doesn't it? :p

The larger forums always have a fair amount of arguing on them. Digital Spy and The Mirror have loads of arguments which get quite nasty at times but they're large enough for people to stick up for each other too, and most of the time I think people forget who they argued with last week. On the smaller forums you tend to get a sheep-like mentality where a few people decide they don't like someone so all the others decide that too, and then it gets really nasty.

Not so much the being awful about me, but I was extremely upset when details about me (and much more so, my family) were published.

I don't have a problem with anyone on anywhere as I don't know the ins and outs and am not involved with whatever the story is. It all sounds completely out of hand. I do sympathise with everyone who's allegedly been the target of personal vindictiveness. :(

We have seagulls in the local car park. They are absolutely vicious and I wouldn't be surprised if they eat computers. :eek:

I once parked my car there for an afternoon and when I came back the driver's door was covered in a huge blob of seagull shit. I made the mistake of trying to wipe it off with a dry cloth and it left scratches behind :mad: Thank god for Meguairs Scratch X

I think there are good points about a lot of forums sometimes the posters let it down. I did enjoy my time on DTV and to a smaller extent BF and Toasted but I have moved on from that type of forum now and did leave a few good friends behind. There are a few forums I would like to post on for instance GB's but it would just be difficult with all the history I have with a few posters there and I would not like to spoil a forum by creating unrest by the fact of me being there.

For what it's worth Fen I enjoy having you here and you are always welcome.
