Just back from an amazing concert at Edinburgh Castle. He played all my favourites with a fantastic backing team.

I'm glad you had a good time. I've just been looking at Leonard Cohen videos on Youtube and found this:

I didn't realise he sung this, I have a version of it by Madeleine Peyroux which I love.

He performed that last night. :)
A mate had sorted the tickets for me and I didn’t know until that it was allocated seating and we had really good seats. If I’d known I would have taken an mp3 and recorded the whole concert.
He did songs from throughout his career and the sound quality was excellent.

Not from the Edinburgh Concert but The Webb Sisters performed If It Be Your Will. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6lwKiNr0H4)

Glad you enjoyed it Gemo. :)
My expectations weren’t high, tbh. I wasn’t keen on his latest album, Dear Heather, and I thought he might be a bit self-indulgent but he was totally the opposite. He gave the other artists a name check after they had done they solos and he seemed to be enjoying the performance.
His attitude was so different to Damien Rice’s who walked off stage because people weren’t seated when he started. When people were returning to their seats after the interval LC told people to take their time, he didn’t want anyone to injure themselves.
I would rate it as one of the best gigs I’ve been to.

You clearly haven’t listened to any. It’s mainly about love and sex.

I can never remember the set of gigs. I don’t know why. My mates are the same.
There was Bird on A Wire, Hallelujah, Suzanne, Sisters of Mercy, First We Take Manhattan, Anthem, Closing Time, Dance Me to the End of Love, Democracy, Everybody Knows, The Future, Hallelujah, I’m Your Man, …
There were others. If you name them I’ll probably be able to say if they were there or not.
He didn’t do Chelsea Hotel or Field Commander Cohen.

I may be predictable  but I still like "Suzanne" best. I always imagine lying by a river bank on a summer's day when I listen to that. :o

People that have seen him when he was younger and saw his recent tour said that his voice is better than ever.

Unfortunately can't play that cos my speakers aren't working at the minute :(
But I just can hear it in my mind - my ex just loved him and we used to play his tapes all the time ( God that makes me feel sooooo old) :p
