I love the old stuff especially anything by the Pythons. Life of Brian is my all time fave, I can watch it again and again :D:D:D

Ah, now I don't like Monty Python much - I just didn't get the humour. I did like Life of Brian though which had a completely different type of humour.
I hated that other film they did - the one about the lost grail.

It was brilliant! :D:D "The Meaning of Life" was a bit disappointing though

I didn't get the Holy Grail one. What was all that pretending to ride horses all about? I have seen the meaning of life but I can't remember it much - I just remember some fat bloke puking everywhere.

Mr Creosote http://www.moviedeaths.com/images/grabs/meaning_of_life-mr_creosote-8.jpg the Grim Reaper sketch was good too You always talk, you Americans. You talk and you talk and say 'let me tell you something' and 'I just wanna say this'. Well, you're dead now, so shut up!:D

I like a lot of the old radio stuff like “I’m sorry I’ll read that again” and “Round the Horne”.
I liked Monty Python.
Recent series of British Comedy I’ve enjoyed have been Saxondale and Benidorm and I enjoy Mock the Week and TV Heaven/Telly Hell.

My favourite British comedian of all time was Frankie Howerd. He just cracks me up!
As far as old British TV goes, you can't beat Dad's Army. It's absolutely timeless. Whenever I watch it I wish I'd been around in the war (no jokes please!).
The other sitcom I particularly like is Keeping Up Appearances. It's cheesy and predictable but that's why I like it. I like the cliches of Hyacinth in her bungalow pretending to be posher than she is, the next door neighbours always trying to escape from her, and the other lot in their awful council house, all crammed in together!
I never got "The Office" though, I really like Ricky Gervase in stand up but "The Office" left me cringing.

I love The Office! It is a bit difficult to get at first because it's a bit weird. It's so depressing that it's funny though. The thought of working for a paper company in Slough - yuk!

Long ago I used to work in a library and we used to have to read and say the persons name as we handed over their tickets. There were two (unrelated) people who both had their surname spelt Onions. The bloke with the name was quite happy to be called Onions (as in the vegetable) the woman had to be called Mrs Oh Nyons, or she would go off on one. :D :D

It wasn’t all good. It was a series of short comedy sketches and not everyone can be a hit, but I think they had a pretty high success rate and their best sketches were hilarious.

I think you’re supposed to. :D
"The Goodies" used to make me giggle a lot too, I was at an age where that sort of juvenile humour really gelled with me (I was about 12). I miss the acerbic wit of Humphrey Lyttelton, sadly missed. :(

Oh dear! Another series that I didn't like! It was deffo very juvenile. I did like The Funky Gibbon though. :D
Speaking of Humphrey, that reminds me - Yes Prime Minister is fab! Maggie Thatcher loved it apparently - I bet that's how she ran her Government. :D

There's a new play about Maggie coming to the TV soon, I saw the trailer this evening.

Wasn’t keen on the Goodies, but I loved Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. :D
I thought Fawlty Towers was good. There were just 13 episodes produced, I believe, and so it didn’t become jaded.

Brilliantly written and acted tragi-comedy, a hard job that was executed so well by both the production team and the actors. Comedy that turns introspective.

The Grumbleweeds were on tv in the 80s. I can't remember much of them except that I watched it, and the theme tune goes "We are the Grumbleweeds..." :o

"Round the Horne" eh? I wonder if you go as far back as "The Clitheroe Kid?" I do. :o
As for modern comedy.... I'm not a great fan, but I did enjoy Green Wing.. and Not Going Out. :)
